CBGBs goes the way of the pyramids

Punk rock mecca CBGBs is set to finally close after months of legal wrangling on September 30th. After that, it's to Vegas; where it will join the other trashy replicas in an orgy of neon post-modernism. Or something.
The venue played host to seminal New Yoik acts like The Ramones, Blondie and Richard Hell's Voidoids in its 30 years of business.
Soaring rent costs in the city are to blame for the club's demise, according to CBGB's founder Hilly Kristal.
"I am taking the bars with me, I am taking the stage - I'm taking the urinal that Joey(Ramone) pissed in with me." Despite the imminent threat of hepatitis, he continued: "I'm going to take a lot of things - anything that makes this place CBGBs."
Bands that brought the venue worldwide fame are expected to feature among the acts of its last ever show schedule.

What do costs in the capital
Have to do with owt?
Washington rents
obviously cause a knock on effect. Or something.
On a serious note...
I want a t-shirt.
hands up
who genuinely cares?
I'd probably care more if I lived less than 3000 miles away
Or indeed if I'd heard of The Voivods.
I expect to be made to feel an idiot after saying that.
trying not to be pedantic...
... but its richard hell and the voidoids, not voivods.

Replace your head
I copied what Mayor Bloomberg up there wrote
Like I said, I havn't got a bloody clue who they are. ;-)
...
This morning I replaced the head on my electric toothbrush. I cared more about that than I did about this.
well...
what a slew of interesting comments.
Not long, crablin
And we'll get gonorrhea confessionals and reviews of today's Lorraine Kelly segment on GM:TV, that'll up the quality.
Hmm
Sif its closing
again
the closure of any music venue, anywhere, is bad news.
