Jimmy Tamborello (DNTEL) and Ben Gibbard (Death Cab for Cutie) have been asked to change their name by the US Government. PLUS! News of Dntel / Bright Eyes collaboration...

In what seems like the most insane band-name-related 'news' since Rage Against the Machine became Audioslave (not to be confused with the Liverpool band called Audio Slave - spot the difference?), Pitchfork spoke to electro-wizz Jimmy T who revealed "the U.S. Postal Service sent us a cease-and-desist letter. We're talking to them right now, it's not figured out yet." Bonkers.

In other related news, the next DNTEL album will feature guest vocals from Bright Eyes' Conor Oberst ('Breakfast In Bed'), Rilo Kiley's Jenny Lewis ('A Warm Bed Is Something'), and Fog's Andrew Broder. However, Tamborello is adamant he's not the new UNKLE.
