Irish rockers reTurn

Irish trio Turn, once darlings of the Melody Maker during their Infectious period, are to reTurn with their third album next month, the cleverly titled Turn.
The eponymous album is to be released on February 6th through Setanta (The Chalets, Evan Dando etc). It was produced by Roman McHugh, whose credits include Wilt and Def Leppard.
Vocalist Ollie Cole had the following to say about the new album:
"This is the most straightforward pop/rock album we¹ve ever recorded. In many ways, we've come full circle. Ronan McHugh was the first person we ever recorded with and we've been through a lot of experimentation since, but we're back with the catchiest songs we've ever written."
Formed back in 1998 (although they've had a member change or two since then), Turn have previously released the albums Antisocial (Infectious, 2000) and Forward (Nurture, 2003).

Benicassim 2008: the DiS review
Setanta also did
the divine comedy as well. Bet yr washing your hands in disgust now eh?
played aberystwyth once
i bought their mini album.
it was okay.
'beretta' is a good song.
i saw them
play at the underworld a few years ago. they were ok. beretta was great, and ear-piercingly loud. i bought it on quite prettily packaged vinyl. antisocial was disappointing though.
yep
Much better live band than their album was. I was incredibly disappointed when I got 'Antisocial' after seeing them support Idlewild. Still some decent songs ... as well as some bland ones. Any idea why they cancelled their two London gigs that were meant to be happening?
Oh yes.....
.....this is beautiful. Terrible albums, but a great great live band
so...
i will get it that time.
Could never find 'Forward' as it wasn't released outside Ireland...
stumbled
across them in dublin after another gig. damn fine they were too. the new album is nothing near beretta though.....
yayyayyayyayyayyayyay
that is all i have to say.
Yeh but
Gen, the mini-album is the one I was talking about, "Check My Ears". Which is actually great. 'Facedown' sounds like early Tears For Fears if they were a grunge band. Strange but awesome.
Cool!
they were a good live band. I've never heard "forward" though..
forward
is amazing album. It was recorded before gav left to join Idlewild.
I heard this new one once and i loved it. Its kind of like the shins or Bredan Benson or something. Its really clever guitar pop.
They have a my space with songs up from the new album. The song "its about nothing" is great.
Gavin has also left Idlewild and is back playing with them, so i bet they are back to being a great live band too.
I will hear no bad about this band. They don't follow any trends and just write good songs.
