Manic Street Preachers: The Band That likes to say "Yes"....

The Manics will preface their forthcoming greatest hits tour with a secret-ish date... But don’t expect to buy tickets in a hurry: Or at all!

The band who prefaced their 3rd album with the words “Everything is for sale” will play the 800 capacity Cardiff St David's Hall in Cardiff on November 18 and admission is NOT to the general public, but tickets can be won from Carling's music website. Tickets are NOT for sale to anyone, especially not the mere punters who bought the records and put the band where they are nowadays...

All this from a band who have continually backed the under-privileged and whose members have had documented and public drink problems ... Meanwhile on the Carling Music website it promises you can “Win prizes that money can’t buy”. You can try to win tickets for the gig at www.carlinglive.com , but you do need to register our details and surrender your privacy.

The show will be taped and broadcast by Channel 4 at a later date: The band then continue to play a tour for the paying punters as announced here. And I bet they never read this , which was prompted by their last so-called 'secret' gig...

Who rattled your cage?

Why are you being so agresive about this? the band are going to be playing a tour which will allow the fans to go and see them. So they want to play a small gig first, that's fine, and it seems fair enough to me to not just sell the tickets, it's such a small venue that it would be nearly impossible anyway, and besides of course they're doing a UK touranyway, so i don't understand why you're so annoyed ?
