Supreme director David Lynch has dipped his finger into the musical water before, most recently with the extremely excellent compilation album Dark Night Of The Soul, which we reviewed here. Now he returns with a full musical offering, releasing his debut electronic single today. This is a very nice surprise of a cold Monday morning. Agree?
The track is called 'Good Day Today' and is backed by a b-side of 'I Know'. It comes out through Sunday Best and are both on iTunes to download now, if you so fancy. You can also listen to David Lynch speaking about the songs over at The Guardian, in an interview which lasts 4 or so minutes.
He said:
"I am very happy to be with Sunday Best with the songs 'Good Day Today' and 'I Know'. This feels like a good partnership and I’m looking forward to everyone having a good day today. In all my films, I have always been very involved with all that one hears. The creation of this record was a natural extension of my love of sound and music."
The single will get a full physical release in January with a bunch of remixes. The artwork for both tracks was designed by Vaughan Oliver, who has done many great things in the past. Have a look at them both below...
