Are we still using the word Grunge? No? Good, because dirty, scuzzy and above all fuzzy rock 'n' roll legends that are Mudhoney have announced a string of dates around Britain and Ireland for the Autumn. By now we're accustomed to seeing them play a solitary London date with perhaps one or two others scattered around, but ten dates is what constitutes a proper tour. So that's good news.
Things will kick off in Ireland before heading over the little bit of sea or channel to come here. Anyway you can catch Mark Arm, Steve Turner and co. on these dates at these places:
September:
30- Cork, Cyrus Avenue
October:
1 - Dublin, Button Factory
2 - Galway, Roisin Dub
3 - Belfast, Limelight
4 - Newcastle, Northumbira Uni
5 - Brighton, Concorde 2
6 - London, Electric Ballroom
7 - Leeds, Uni Stylus
8 - Aberdeen, Tunnels
9 - Glasgow, Arches
Tickets are currently on sale from the usual outlets. You know where to go. The Seattle band released their most recent album, The Lucky Ones back in 2008. No word on any new material yet, but you can read a chat we had with them in October of last year by clicking here.

ffs..
has the South West/Wales come adrift of mainland Britain.
seconded about the midlands
would love to see them, but none of those dates are remotely do-able for me.
I wish they weren't playing the ballroom
HATE that venue.
I wonder if the pseudo hipsters that seem to be in love with the alternative 90s will be out in full force for this one too?
I'm still excited about going though.
What's Birmingham to Leeds...90 mins if you cane it?
I routinely drive to Oxford for gigs when bands decide not to play in the Bournemouth/Southampton/Portsmouth megatripolopolis.
I don't drive....
Thanks to a pesky brain tumour I had on my optic nerve when I was younger, and travelling somewhere and staying overnight in a hotel is also rather awkward as I have medication which has to be kept refrigerated (being on copious amounts of medication was down to the other tumour I had, though i'm all healthy these days) which can be a real pain to sort out getting stored, or for somewhere to even agree to store it for me, so you can see my predicament. I do have a few friends who drive who i've talked into driving places and back I can't get to and back easily by public transport for gigs, but thats only really been for bands they are into too.
