Timing is everything. So DiS is running a week of festival previews, and right on cue we've (kind of) got one of our own to announce in Sheffield.
Okay, so it's not strictly a festival, but it is an evening of pant-wettingly exciting proportions, presented by ourselves and our good friends Death By Shoes in association with Harley Live, featuring seven cracking live acts plus DJs afterwards. Here's the clincher, though: it's at a Roller Disco. With a fully licensed bar. Say hello to Rollerpalooza!
Want the bill? You've got it. If roller skates and beer wasn't a deadly enough combination, we've gone and got Black Lips to headline. According to Wikipedia, they "have a reputation for crazy live shows that have included vomiting, urination, nudity, band members kissing, Power Wheels races, fireworks, a chicken, and flaming guitars". But if you've heard latest release 200 Million Thousand or 2007's Good Bad Not Evil, you'll also know they've tunes to back up the over-exuberance. The 'Stones for the Noughties? Pretty much.
Who else? Here's a full list of the evening's entertainment:
- Black Lips
- Mika Miko
- Gringo Star
- The Old Romantic Killer Band
- Brontide
- More live acts TBC
- Razor Stiletto DJs
- Death By Shoes DJs
- DiS DJs (of course!)
- Tender Maulings DJs
- Pandapop DJs
The whole shebang takes place at Skate Central in Sheffield (ten minutes form the station, map here) on Saturday May 16th, and runs from 7pm until 3am.
If you've been to any of the previous events at this place, you'll know it's amazing. If you haven't... well, it's amazing. In case you can't tell, we're really, really excited about this.
Tickets cost £9adv, click here for a limited pre-sale allocation - be quick! We'd love to see you there.
