Chart & Destroy: 'tallica and KoL still top of the pops
Chart attack: no change at the top...
Hairy men continue to top the charts with Kings Of Leon at one in the singles chart with 'Sex on Fire' and Metallica topping the album charts for a second week with their ninth studio album Death Magnetic.
The singles chart seems to have a somewhat sexually charged and effeminate feel to it with Katy Perry's faux-lesbo 'I Kissed A Girl' still clinging to the top of the charts at two, whilst the Pussycat Dolls' 'When I Grow Up' can be found gyrating beneath her at three. This weeks highest new entry comes from camp crooner Will Young and his new lift-pop single 'Changes' which sounds not unlike a homage to the sun shining out of Elton John's well lubricated ass.
Emo fans rejoice because Fall Out Boy are back with 'I Don't Care' sitting resolute at number forty. It's a proper jerky pop ditty but doesn't seem to have a slick video on YouTube but thankfully has lots of versions streaming with just their lol-faces staring back at you, like this one:
The only other single-related things of note to DiS-world is that Biffy Clyro 'Mountains' has dropped seven places to seventeen, M.I.A. 'Paper Planes' has risen to number 23 and that's about it.
In the album chart: Elbow remain in the top ten at eight, Queen (and Paul Rogers) are new at five, The Streets wander in at seven, The Coral are at thirteen with their Singles Collection and notably New Kids on the Block have tumbled thirty-seven places down to number fifty-three. Owch.
