Play your food: Japanese blogger makes edibile albums

Albums you can nom-nom-nom...

The web is full of weird and wonderful things and this morning Boing Boing, have brought to our attention a fascinating/stalkerishly scary blog of record covers made out of seaweed, sour plum, cabbage, ham, fish cakes, paprika, rice and more.

Japanese designer, DJ and food enthusiast turned blogger started The Jacket Lunch Box blog as a place to share their hobby. Doing exactly what your mother told you not to do, they, whoever these people are, make album covers out of food. Everyone from Kasabian to Aphex Twin have had an edible version of their record sleeves created. There are some videos showing you how it was done but we're sure the site will get shut down when Metallica see this:

DiScuss: what's the best thing you've ever made out of food? Whatever next, pizza versions of seminal photos? Kurt Cobain made out of spaghetti? Found any blogs like this?

Sean

does every article you do have to have a DiScuss bit at the bottom? Some things just aren't DiScuss worthy. Like this

most do

Ryan Adams doesn't like them either

This guy is a designer?

What a waste of his and my time!

Damn right!

How dare people have hobbies! Especially trivial ones!

Next they'll be listening to music or something.

Wot ?

No Sushi and The Banshees?!

I saw an exhibition of The Fall

at the Praxis Hagen gallery in Berlin a couple of summers ago. Amongst the assorted 'inspired by' paintings etc. were a bunch of crackers painted with different album covers. It was cool, though I don't think the paint was edible.

When I first saw the title

I thought the discs themselves would be edible. Very Anti-Climtatic :(

:D bentos!

i too

thought that some kind of magical music producing food item had been created. Damn

No

Wasabi Fav?

Edibile?

EDIBILE?!
