ATP take Release The Bats on the road, announce second London date
There’s few places you can find Lightning Bolt, Shellac, Andrew Weatherall, Pissed Jeans, Wooden Shjips, Om and Les Savy Fav playing on the same night of the week. Three though? Only ATP.
On top of the now sold out date at London’s Kentish Town Forum on October 31, ATP have now announced a further London date for Release The Bats, at the same venue the night before. But as well as the usual capital show, this year a co-promoted show with Capsule has been announced at Birmingham's Custard Factory on November 1, but without Les Savy Fav in on the trip. Does the Halloween fancy dress still apply?

Don't you hate it
when the extra date is before the original one? And you're like "hey fuckers, I paid for the original date, so why am I getting the sloppy-assed second date, when the bands are tired and less excited?"
yeah
I'm a little peeved about this
it doesn't bother me so much...
... cos i couldn't go to the first one, but now i can go, and i'm very happy about that indeed. maybe i'm just being selfish.
maybe you can take some concilation from the fact that the original date is actually on hallowe'en?
yeah,
and the last date is the last date. i'm more annoyed if a date gets added after what i thought was the last date (muse seem to do this to me all the time).
oh and for the record
les savy fav are not playing the birmingham date. http://www.atpfestival.com/events/rtb2008/news.php?view=915
..
THHANKKS.
this has really pissed me off
i can completely understand putting a london date on sale, seeing if it sells out and then adding a second. no problem. i bought some tickets for the original date and was planning on travelling all the way down from stoke and now they've decided to put it on in birmingham, less than an hour away AND its cheaper!!! thanks a lot ATP. thanks a lot.
PS i have 2 tickets for sale for OCT 31st date. £50. email me - corrupted9@hotmail.com
why the surprise?
it's about the £££££££££££££ not the customer experience!
er
i think you are being ridiculous! you can't blame atp for the fact that you are willing to travel from stoke! also it is cheaper because it is out of London and because there is one less band (LSF). how is it all about £££? people would moan that London gets all the good gigs and they put one on in Birmingham and still you moan. get a grip.
and surely
people would prefer to go to the actual HALLOWEEN night gig? weirs
weird i mean
get a grip me
Of course the actually Halloween night is better
Just annoying that it's not really a one-off party anymore. As I said, the artists will be more tired and less excited.
or by the time they do
the 31st they'll be over their jetlag and less tired? either way, this conversation is silly.
these things
are usually a ONE OFF, are they not? so i buy tickets for london, brilliant. shellac never play ANYWHERE in the UK except for LONDON and minehead. so i now have a ticket to see shellac play in london with some other ace bands too. brilliant. it is then announced that they are actually now playing 40mins down the road. FUCKING BRILLIANT.
then to rub it in, i get told by some fucking little london scenester knob to get a grip. fucking brilliant.
i would have a nice little grip thanks, if these things were actually announced at THE SAME TIME allowing the paying customer to make an informed choice about where to attend.
well
its unusual you say that when in the past you've not been shy about enjoying free food, drinks from riders, and accomodation at the expense of ATP.
scenester?
hahahahahahhahhahahah
if you could see me
by the way
the original date isn't actaully sold out yet, you can still buy tickets at ticketmaster
.
BURRRRRRRN!!!
me too!
I live in Birmingham and bought tickets to the first London gig too, thinking it would sell out... arse..
