UPDATED: Downloadable Field Day stage times HERE

So, there are just a few days to go until London's own "High Summer Jamboree of sizable proportions" Field Day takes place at Tower Hamlet's Victoria Park. We are told that a limited few tickets remain - click here to snap them up now and avoid disappointment.

For your exclusive viewing pleasure DiS has put together a print-out-and-keep finalised line-up with stage times for you to plan your day with:

THE DiS FIELD DAY PROGRAMME]

The final addition to this line-up comes in the form of a 25-member Brass Band that will be on site, say Field Day organisers, to "entertain revelers with renditions of everything from Led Zeppelin to Kylie, KLF to Stevie Wonder... Talking Heads to...Beyonce. Plus the odd cult theme tune."

Bastards!

Because of my barbecue plans I will miss NATW and Howling Bells

GODDMAN IT

Nice

13.30 - Howling Bells
14.45 - Wild Beasts
16.00 - Modeselektor (so excited about this)
17.00 - Of Montreal
17.30 - Mae Shi
18.15 - Mystery Jets
19.00 - James Holden
20.30 - The Field
21.30 - One out of Richie Hawtin, Simian Mobile Disco and Foals

Minimal clashes!

EffEffEss

Foals, Simian Mobile Disco and Benga all at the same time? Fuck sake.

_

i may have to run between stages

at least twice. But not too many nasty crashes... phew!

*clashes

urg

so many clashes

i guess that's what happens when you have such a killer line-up ...

Less

clashes than I expected - although Crookers/Of Montreal/The Mae Shi may cause me to run around a bit.

Dan Deacon, Les Savy Fav and Richie Hawtin were my three must-sees and they fit together perfectly. Lovely stuff.

Argh!

Tunng at the same time as eat as many carrots as you can! That's just cruel.

_

Acecopters

No particularly irritating clashes. THANK YOU DIS!

me:

noah and the whale (or one little plane)
pictish trail
emma pollock
tunng
jeffrey lewis- maybe some laura marling
alasdair roberts- maybe some of montreal
efterklang
king creosote
the notwist

and then possibly just hometime after that, as the notwist would be a good band for me to end on. i'm just glad they don't clash with efterklang.

i'm a shoe-in for the knobbly knees contest

it's a bit clash-o-rama for me :-(

I

Like that they've got some longer set times. Good move.

Now we can all do

'spot the internet nerd' as I did last year, with everyone clutching their print outs.

is that a funny?

why are they all so short?!!! the field is only on for half a freakin hour

Not bad

Shame Mystery Jets and Dan Deacon overlap but otherwise fine for me

15 minutes of notwist

and les savy fav. thats not too bad, though...

hmm

simian mobile disco better be worth missing foals for.

might hav to miss the mae shi (seeing them tonight) and dan deacon (supporting no age next week)

will be lucky to even get into the place before noah and the whale begin. last year the queue took ageees

Efterklang/Mystery Jets

Clash.

:(((((((((((((

ooh

do you recommend turning up to Victoria Park early then? (didn't go last year)

^ this D:

are there times available

for Underage Festival?
as they're at the same place..

"Tower Hamlet's Victoria Park."

*Tower Hamlets' Victoria Park.

sorry, i feel like this: http://stuffwhitepeoplelike.com/2008/05/12/99-grammar/

in other news this looks good

i must remember to buy another ticket before time runs out.

very pleased

minimal clashes for me, planning something like this:

Noah And The Whale or One Little Plane
Emma Pollock
Tunng
Modeselektor
Of Montreal (hopefully won't overlap)
Dan Deacon
Les Savy Fav(poss?)
Lightspeed Champion (poss?)
Foals

Might skip Foals for Benga depending on my mood at the time, seeing as Foals are playing every single festival this side of the sun. In fact, pretty relaxed on what I'll do after Dan Deacon, who frankly will be more than enough doseage of awesome for one day.

against all my principles

and despite demanding the immediate execution of all the organisers last year, I am now going on account of my wife being at work so i'll be at a loose end and i've just been given a ticket. Of Montreal! Jeffery Lewis! Wild Beasts! Yay!

BUT

The sound and facilities can't be as bad as last year.....

....can they?

no

but mae shi start on another stage 30 minutes after they do

CU THER!!!

i managed to get arond no problem

last year. As always getting into a tent stage will cause the most bother

colour seems to denote a dj set

looking fwd to it

Noah and the Whale or One Little Plane
Magistrates
Howling Bells
Tunng
White Lies (20mins)
Jeff Lewis (20mins)
Laura Marling
Of Montreal
Mystery Jets
Les Savy Fav
Lightspeed Champ
Foals

FUN PACKED MARATHON OF A DAY!

They were giving out the programmes

at the Mae Shi show tonight. There's interviews with the big names (Les Savy Fav, Mystery Jets, Richie Hawtin et al), but they seem to assume that everyone has checked out every band's myspace before heading along.

The Laura Marling/Jeffrey Lewis and King Creosote/Dan Deacon clashes are a bit poo.

my definites

emma pollock - 14.00 - 14.30 stage 4
wild beasts - 14.45 - 15.30 stage 1

laura marling - 16.00 - 16.30 stage 1
of montreal - 17.00 - 17.45 stage 1
(the mae shi 17.30 - 18.15) stage 3
mystery jets - 18.15 - 19.00 stage 1
king creosote 19.15 - 20.00 stage 4
the notwist 20.00 - 20.45 stage 3
fionn regan 21.45 - 22.30 stage 4

what else should i see to fill the gaps...?

Also, there's a map in there too

which shows that the stages are now much better located (eg the Homefires stage isn't right in a corner next to the service road).

programmes

i read they're giving them out free this year on the door. which is good, since there was 1 person selling them for the whole event last year - and it was a complete rip-off, but at least it had a short write-up on every act.

Tug of War 15.30

Mine's pretty same as you like. But with Les Savy Fav in it.

Correct

Seen Modeselektor about 3 times now & each time they've blown me away. Incredible.

But having them on at 4pm seems stupid. They should be headlining...or at least just on before Richie Hawtin

last year

nobody was on longer than 30 mins, this is an improvement

What idiot

put Modeselektor and The Emperor Machine on at the same time?!

That is a bit annoying

Also how early they're on - but i guess that was to be expected.

Other than that the timings are pretty good

Shame

Mystery Jets have had to cancel:

As Blaine remains laid up in hospital receiving treatment for ailments on his feet, a reoccurring injury relating to his Spina Bifida – we regret to inform you that the following festivals must also be cancelled:

Fri Aug 8th – Underage Festival
Sat Aug 9th – Field Day
Sun Aug 10th – Summer Sundae

As Blaine explains:

“At this point in time it is impossible to say when we will be back on full fighting form, but I'd say Reading and Leeds are definitely as good a goal as any. I want to apologise to our fans up north who were looking forward to some Mystery Jets love this weekend at Summer Sundae and at Y Not and Kendall last weekend too. And to those who had planned to see us at Haldern and Newquay…

Believe me, I would swap my intravenous drip and shitty hospital lasagne to be there any day of the week.

P.S if anyone has any good ideas as how to kill some time (hint: prison break season II) please post suggestions here or to our managements offices. Nice one.”

See www.myspace.com/mysteryjets for a full personal statement from Blaine from his hospital bed.

YOU STILL HAVEN'T CORRECTED IT

THIS MAKES ME VERY ANGRY

So then

What happens to the line up now that Mystery Jets have pulled out? Slightly longer sets for the main stagers? (here's hoping)

mystery jets

have pulled out.

Balls.

these things are wrong

most of the time.
maybe

does anyone know

if re-entry is allowed? I thought I couldn't get there til 5, but turns out I could get there about midday and stay for a bit, then go, then come back. But I don't want to have to buy another ticket obviously.anyone know?

oops

okay, I just looked on the site - no reentry it says. Really should have checked there first.

Well

Wild Beasts 14:45-15:30
Modeselektor 16:00-17:00
Of Montreal 17:00-17:45
The Mae Shi 17.45-18.15
(OR Crookers 17:00-18:00 depending on main stage changes)
Dan Deacon 18.45-19.30
LSF 19.30-20:15
The Notwist 20:15-20:45
Benga 21:30-22:30

Metcheck..

I Will Not Let The Weatherr

Stop me from having a good time!!But it is a bit annoying...

is this still correct?

On the board sonone's posted a different version where Efterklang and LSF clash - please say it ain't so Rivers!

Have Mystery Jets cancelled???

Gimme the truth!

can someone update this please :)

i want to know the truth - efterklang and les savy fav had better not clash.... :(

Quoooiiiii!

This keeps being bumped but Mystery Jets are still on here. Quelle?

_

drownedinsound

slow to get there facts right..... hohum

Yep

I posted that before they had though

oops..

obviously their ;)

its been updated!

BUT we're not sure who takes their place.
So, its just TBC - we heard they are quite good though :-)

Fugazi?

is this up to date

?

I wouldn't trust it

It's been up for a few days now and i really don't know why it's been bumped up the news if it's inaccurate.

Runaround Now!

12:30-13:00 Noah and the Whale
13:00-13:15 Magistrates
13:15-13:45 Pictish Trail
13:45-14:15 Howling Bells
14:15-14:30 Emma Pollock
14:30-14:45 Lunch / knobbly knees
14:45-15:25 Tunng
15:25-15:45 White Lies
15:45-16:00 Jeffrey Lewis
16:00-16:30 Laura Marling
16:30-17:00 Emperor Machine
17:00-17:45 Of Montreal
17:45-18:00 The Mae Shi
18:00-18:45 Efterklang
18:45-19:15 Dan Deacon
19:15-20:00 King Creosote
20:00-20:30 The Notwist
20:30-21:15 Lightspeed Champion
21:15-22:30 Richie Hawtin
21:30-22:30 Foals

PS That's got to be well worth £26

PPS Any rumours about who's going to replace the Mystery Jets???

PPPS Last year was not half as bad as everyone makes out. I had a great time. Couldn't get to the bar, so I didn't need a piss!

dang

LSF do clash with Efterklang now. Thanks for that!

If only I was going...

I would OWN the eat as many carrots as you can competition.

Thanks!

Just spent all morning working this schedule out and now they've posted a completely new set of times. Back to the drawing board. I'd accidentally forgotten about The Field too.

Last year, some very helpful geek put all the times into an easy to use, colour coded spreadsheet. Are you still out there?

I see that Lightspeed Champion has moved into the Mystery Jets slot and the Homefires schedule moved around to fit. Cheap fix.

Cheap fix..

... but actually quite a sensible one to be honest - despite the few clashes it now creates

spreadsheet

here's one i made on the new times - i had to do a little bit of guess word for tunng and foals, but it seems to be ok

http://www.sendspace.com/file/iv2goa

hope this is of help to anyone, but it's my no means accurate, just going by what's on the field day website right now!

Thanks...

....very much

indeed:

Efterklang vs Les Savy Fav - noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!

No Sleep 'Til Dalston

Ta very much for this - I do love a colour-coded chart.

New schedule worked out apart the 5 o'clock dilemma.

12:30-13:00 Noah and the Whale
13:00-13:30 Magistrates
13:30-14:15 Pictish Trail
14:15-14:30 Filthy Dukes
14:30-14:45 Knobbly knees contest – I won at Butlins, so I’ll rule Hackney
14:45-15:00 Emma Pollock
15:00-15:45 White Lies
15:55-16:45 Tunng
16:45-17:00 Emperor Machine
17:00-17:45 Of Montreal or Jeffrey Lewis or Cockandbullkid???
17:45-18:15 The Mae Shi
18:15-19:00 Lightspeed Champion
19:00-19:30 The Field
19:30-20:10 Efterklang
20:10-20:30 The Notwist
20:30-21:10 King Creosote
21:10-21:20 Richie Hawtin – quick look at the light show!
21:20-22:30 Foals

He's gone ...

Dan Deacon is no longer playing!?!?!?!

What's the script!

One man that was a stone-wall-certainty-must-see.

Gutted. :(

Oh well ...

Modeselektor
The Mae Shi
The Field
James Holden
The Notwist
Richie Hawtin
The Foals

... will have to do. :)

Hope this helps

Have a look below at my updated schedule (No Sleep 'Til Dalston) for ideas. It allows for all the time changes and it looks like we have similar(ish) tastes.

I agree

Last time it was very quick and easy to move from stage to stage - it's a pretty compact site and it's not too over-crowded.
