DiS is very excited to announced some of the first names for London's latest urban festival, Concrete & Glass.
Despite these only being the first names this is a pretty DiS-tastic line-up. So without further ado those much loved by/on DiS names are:
TV On The Radio, Errors, Telepathe, Pete & the Pirates, Bodies of Water, Let's Wrestle, Cats In Paris, Frightened Rabbit, Kid Harpoon, O'Death, Port O'Brien, Semifinalists, Sky Larkin and Wave Machines.
These are just some of the names for the inaugural Concrete & Glass. The event, in a nutshell, is a "cutting edge East End music and art event", or "a two day celebration of the most original, innovative and exciting artists and musicians around". It takes place on October 2-3 across 18 music venues around the Brick Lane area.
As previously announced, DiS is the online partner for the event and will be showcasing a feast of our favourite acts. Other venue hosts include Steve Lamacq, John Kennedy, Radio 1’s Huw Stephens, Bloggers Delight, Merok, Witchita Recordings, Time Out and The Stool Pigeon, amongst others.
Tickets are available at £22.50 (day ticket) or £35 (two-day pass) now from seetickets.com or in person at Rough Trade East. For more info visit: concreteandglass.co.uk.

DiS Digital Singles Club Unveiled
Looks good
Sure to be a success with the those involved/announced already.
mega tempted by
tv on the radio.
but then it occurred to me that it might be a camden crawl style situation where they're put in some tiny gallery and there's no way for most people to see them.
reassurance please!
^^^^
this X 100
Quite
although at Stage and Dagger in May I had no problems getting into any of the venues, and the bands on offer were of a similar stature.
TVOTR will probably play 93 Feet East or somewhere else a bit bigger. I'd hope so anyway.
Well, I expect...
Cargo and 93 to get some of the 'bigger' acts, the most popular shows.
What else is masssssive (relatively speaking) around there?
TVOTR in the UK!
this is pretty fucking good.
TVOTR
i have to go
Looks good
What day is tv on the radio?
is the frigthened rabbit gig on the 2nd October at Hoxton bar and Grill part of this festival then?
TVOTR??!!!!
please say they're going to announce some other UK dates..that would be awesome
Small
93 is tiny, non? 333 is bigger 'n' that I would've thought. I mean, I've only been to each once to see bands and was pretty wasted at 333 but still. I don't remember it being cavernous. Am I overestimating TV On The Radio's popularity?
Still, I'd go. Have managed to miss every single one of the million Semifinalist gigs so far this year.
_
Is it going
to be an all day thing, or just evenings? (IE - do i need to book the days off work).
ah crap
what rubbish dates. im back at uni by then :(
man
this shit proves how no one listens to me. i told everyone they'd be touring around this time. i'm gonna wait until the inevitable other headlining tvotr shows are announced.
there's going to be
a big outdoor area. and i believe the bigger acts will be doing more than one show (it's two days) but don't quote me on this. they def want people to see as much as possible.
it says
Time 18:00 on the website and I think things are more likely to run until the early hours of the night (i know that's our plan) rather than start particularly early.
^^just turn up as doors open
and watch everyone else. Its pretty simple. I remember being in the Dublin Castle for the first act the year Winehouse headlined it and it was easy to get in
TVOTR??? O'DEATH???
*faints
aaaaah
CLARITY.
don't you guys share an office?!
do you only communicate on the boards?
HMMMM!
I won't be able to get back home...but this does sound mighty tempting.
who this
Sky Larkin rabble? I really like a band called SkyLark...but they are not the same. These kids have weapons is a fukin tune. check em out on de myspace.
no Lightspeed Champion?
it's not a festival then is it?

Actualolz
Pete & the Pirates are playing though! So it's still sort of a festival.
Need to see TVOTR at some point - hopefully this year with the new LP out - I'm hopeful that there'll be more dates added.
TVOTR
is tempting. new album out early next year (-:
