Ex-Libertine Carl Barat has promised those heading to Glastonbury this weekend that his current combo Dirty Pretty Things will play the festival.
So what? Why, only last week the singer was in hospital after being diagnosed with an acute pancreatitis. Ouch. But NME.com reports Barat's upbeat about the weekend:
"I am feeling much better, almost as good as I ever do. Its not as bad as I thought, it appears that the pancreatitis was probably caused by a combination of medication I was talking [for an ear infection] and maybe the odd drink too many.
"I was discharged from hospital at the weekend, which was liberating. I have been told to take it easy this week and I shan't be over exerting myself, which may be difficult as the LP is out next week and there are rehearsals to be had. Anyways, as long as I behave I should be right as rain before you know it."
Dirty Pretty Things' new album, Romance At Short Notice, is released on Monday and will be reviewed on DiS later this week.

Phew! That was close!
People almost had to watch Jay-Z because of this!
Predictable response slagging off band
sarcastic that would have ruined my festival comment.
on a personal level
i wish him all the best, but his band are still shit
Sitting in my tent, feeling very depressed as the rain batters the roof,
and hearing this fat nobody prattle through this band's reportoire was fucking awful. One of the truly low points of myfirst ever Glastonbury festival.
And yet still so much better than his former bandmate's
I'd actually go with average rather than shit personally.
You will find them
in the Leftfield tent. On Saturday, I think. Or maybe Friday. Or maybe I don't care at all.
If you want something TOTALLY BRITISH and TOTALLY SWEET, Jimbob from Carter USM is playing in the Leftfield tent at 12.30am Saturday night, or Sunday morning, depending how you like to look at these things.
i thought
Carl Barat was tiered of england
He probably got discharged from hospital early
cause he kept singing to the Doctors and Nurses
DPT's new album reviewed on DiS later this week...
"review" as in, we don't like the band and therefore will appear all indie-cool by rating it a 4/10 at best before we've even listened to it.
I sometimes wonder
why you even bother posting news about this band, when it's clear what the reaction will be. or is that the whole point?
