it's just an insult, its a question of context. i'm not defending his actions, it was probably iladvised to say that but i dont think it makes him a homophobe. whether Homme is a twat or not is another question, but since when have rock stars not been twats?

This sort of language seems to be ingrained in American society. It's like they don't even realise they are doing it. Visit any music message board and you can tell the American posters straight away. They always use the words "faggot" and "pussy" to put others down. It's part of the "jock" culture that seems to be the absolute norm, even in "indie" or "alternative" circles.

he was pissed off that somebody was throwing shit at him, and the guy probably deserved a telling off, but it just shows a lack of intelligence (as well as imagination) using words like faggot and pussy as insults. It's pretty juvenile, ugly stuff. Although I'd be amazed if he really is homophobic, as in genuinely afraid of homosexuality. That would be pretty sad and fairly disappointing seeing as he comes across as a funny and intelligent bloke most of the time.
