volcano! are currently polishing off their second album it readiment for its release this summer.
The band aim to get Paperwork completed for as-yet-unspecific ‘late summer’ issue, the follow-up to the DiS-adored Beauiful Seizure containing the following tracks:
‘Performance Evaluation Shuffle’
‘Africa Just Wants to Have Fun’
‘Tension Loop’
‘Fairy Tale’
‘Slow Jam’
‘’78 Oil Crisis’
‘Sweet Tooth’
‘Astronomer’s Ballad’
‘
‘Palimpsests’
‘Kitchen Dance’
“These songs are pretty diverse and from a musical standpoint are mainly inspired by a sudden irresistible urge to write tighter beats and melodies and more economical songs,” guitarist/vocalist Aaron With told DiS.
“Lyrically, about half the songs are related to issues in the workplace: the common experience of entering a job with some amount of idealism and naivety, the process of disillusionment that often follows and the coming to terms with reality & making the best of things… a sort of coming of age tale.”
We know what he means.
