ARTISTdirect Records and producer Ross Robinson announce the formation of a new imprint, I AM/ARTISTdirect Records, announced today by ARTISTdirect CEO Ted Field.
Under this production agreement, Ross Robinson will oversee the imprint's A&R activities, contribute to the development of its talent as well as produce artists for I AM/ARTISTdirect Records. ARTISTdirect Records staff are to handle all marketing, promotion, sales, and publicity activities for the imprint's roster, and all releases will be distributed through BMG.
Over the course of his career, Robinson has 'discovered' and produced debut albums from KoRn, Limp Bizkit, Deftones, Slipknot, At The Drive-In, Fear Factory, Amen, GlassJaw and Vex Red, which have sold more than 70-million copies combined. In addition, he signed the Seattle-based The Blood Brothers to ARTISTdirect Records late last year, and will produce their debut album that will be released later this year.
Commenting on the deal, Robinson said, "I'm honoured to have the opportunity of working closely with Ted Field, a music visionary devoted to developing real artists. Under his leadership, ARTISTdirect Records is emerging as a vibrant and musically diverse label, and I'm extremely excited to build upon the company's success."
