Floating up the Danube comes news of Bratislava’s Wilsonic festival, billed as “central and eastern Europe’s celebration of cutting edge, adventurous and forward thinking music”.
Usually of course this sort of PR bunkum results in a bill disfigured by the likes of The Automatic and The Hoosiers, with someone like, I dunno, Hercules & Love Affair thrown in as a token nod towards the dance fraternity, but the Wilsonic bill genuinely excites by rendering DrownedinSound ignorant.
And being made to feel ignorant is one of the best things to be.
The names we can pull out from the bill - Skream, Apparat Band, Fennesz, Flying Lotus, Kelly Poland… but really it’d pay just to list the bill in its totality.
