Blessed relief: more names added to Radio 1’s Big Weekend
This is more like it – the acts have been announced for the under card at this year’s Big Weekend and Radio 1 have given us some seasoning for our gruel.
Headlined this year by Editors* and The Raconteurs, the somewhat awkwardly-named ‘In New Music We Trust’ stage will also feature appearances from *Foals, The Futureheads, Vampire Weekend and Justice over Saturday the 10th and Sunday the 11th of May.
Elsewhere, the outdoor DJ stage hosts, most notably, Fatboy Slim, Herve & Sinden, Pendulum and, again, Justice though there’s also the musical black hole opening up in the middle of Pete Tong and Vernon Kay’s versus set to navigate if you’re to have any chance of coming out of the Big Weekend alive.
As well as that, industry champions Twisted Wheel and White Lies will do battle for their paymasters on the Introducing Stage. It’s all below:

In New Music We Trust
If that's the case where are all the new bands then?
or are we just talking new to the average radio 1 listener?
"New" is a bit arbitrary.
I like Steve Merchants definiton and adopt it as my own - New music is music that is new to you.
Brian Blessed?
I read the headline and made up my OWN story of what it was about.
I might actually go now I know Brian's playing.
That Editors day doesn't actually look too bad
but it's hardly 'new'.
And doesn't excuse the rest of the crap.
It's predicatable
just like Radio 1 itself. Boring, past its sell by date and major label dominated.
in a fight
between Zane Lowe and Scott Mills who would win? Tong Vs. Kay would be good too.
HAHAHAHAHAH
Gallows AND Lethal Bizzle.
So much is wrong with that.
