BBC 6 Music’s George Lamb has been nominated for an award in this year’s Sony Radio Awards.
The DJ is given a nod in the category of ‘DAB Rising Star’, where he’s up against Kelly Osbourne (Radio 1), Amy Jones (Kerrang Radio), ‘The Hywel and Jamie Experience’ (Rock FM) and ‘The Rob Ellis Show’ (Galaxy Manchester).
“Since his radio debut in April last year,” states the nomination blurb; “George has become the latest star of BBC 6 Music with his blend of surrealist humour, irreverent interviewing techniques and tongue-in-cheek antics.”
It’s the first year the category has existed, so there’s no accounting for form.
