Chances are you’re already going to Primavera Sound in May, and I say that with the understanding that the overwhelming majority of the DrownedinSound readership are possessed of a brain. If you like it a lot you might fancy heading back to Parc del Forum in July, when Summercase hosts its big party there. The Breeders, Foals, M.I.A. and Interpol are already confirmed to show, and today the organisers have tossed more hats into the ring.
Whose hats?
2 Many DJs
Edwyn Collins
Etienne de Crécy (live)
Grinderman
Hidrogenesse
Kaiser Chiefs
The Kooks
Mogwai (performing Young Team)
Los Planetas
Primal Scream
Santogold
Suitably enticed, know that Summercase takes place on the 18th and 19th of July, at Boadilla del Monte in Madrid as well as in Barcelona. Tickets cost €95 for both days, until the 15th of April.

Mogwai doing 'Young Team', nice! Any chance of them doing an a UK don't look back on this?
tends to be the way, doesn't it?
it's odd for a band to rehearse / relearn a whole set and then not play it around a bit?
But of course, they may not...
But I would think so...
That's fairly exciting
I'd go for Grinderman and to see Mogwai doing Young Team. But I'll most likely wait till the 'gwai bring YT to these shores. I had a feeling they'd do this sooner or later, what with the deluxe edition about to be released.
I think the line-up (not just the above) is the best I've seen for the summer
And better than what I personally think is an overrated Primavera.
Has anyone here been to Summercase (either Barcelona or Madrid)? Somewhat bizarrely, what actually puts me off is having to stay in a hotel. I actually like having the refuge of a nearby tent when nothing's happening and the ease of falling into a tent at the end of the night.
The website is useless. Any advice on the ease of getting to the place, the remoteness of it, and how trapped you are (ie, can you escape to a nearby bar for a while) would be appreciated.
