Richard Swift’s playing dress-up again – first, we had the eerie hissings of kraut-rock guise Instruments of Science and Technology and now, with a swish of the cape, Swift transmogrifies into… Onasis!
The Richard Swift as Onasis double EP – artwork pictured – is the latest diversion from the prolific solo artist’s follow-up proper to Dressed Up for the Letdown, which will arrive later this year through Secretly Canadian.
‘Til then, the same label are issuing …as Onasis - described as a “series of short, abstract, off-the-cuff recordings Richard put to tape while under the influence of Howlin' Wolf, John Lee Hooker, Bo Diddley and Link Wray's Three-Track Shack” – on the 21st of April.
