Damien Jurado has been forced to cancel his forthcoming one-off UK show after work permit problems made it impossible for him to be in London next month.
The much-loved singer-songwriter had scheduled the performance for Sunday the 17th of February at the Luminaire in Kilburn, but his label Secretly Canadian are now instructing those who bought tickets to seek a refund at the point of purchase.
“Damien promises to make it up to the fans,” continues the press release. “A new album will be released on Secretly Canadian in late 2008.”

damn
wonder what the "problems" with the work permit were ...
if they applied for a new permit today they'd be able to get it before the date.
perhaps he's done something dodgy!
nothing dodgy!
Damien will be back later this year once the new record's done, that's all the info we have for now!

Apologies... London Show Canceled
"We want to extend sincere apologies to our friends in London, who we were looking forward to seeing in February. We have had to cancel the Luminaire gig due to an issue with the UK work permits. (It was not a passport problem, as previously reported.) We will still be playing the shows in Spain, as the requirements are different. We really
regret missing out on this opportunity to play for you in London, and hope to make it back over there later this year with a new record to share with you!
Thanks for your continued support…
Damien, Eric, and Jenna"
