Liars?
wut?
jeez
the Editors is exactly like their music a dull pastiche.
The Rakes should have won from a design point of view.
Battles is a brilliant sleeve too, probably what attracted me first if I'm honest.
interpol artwork
is dire.
menomena?
surely
My thoughts exactly
Hope that shut the smug git Archer up!! Didn't even make the top 25. And rightly so.
In other news...
Menomena announce their next album's cover will be a boring sepia photo.
An End Has A Start
I think the cover's fantastic, so there!
Battles stole their sleeve
from Fripp and Eno
stole
you mean influenced if anything
I cant take this seriously
because Menomena are abscent, easily the best artwork I have seen in my cd collection for a while!
menomena
artwork is too good. I agree. Can look at it for hours.
In all honesty
I think the art work from !!!'s latest is something pretty fuckin' special. I have it as my desktop background.
But I didn't even know UNKLE or Air released an album last year. Geez.
yay! No fucking Hard-Fi :D
Am glad Battles and Liars are there (as they are ace sleeves) My other favorite that wasn't on the list is Asobi Seksu (...its in a florceant cd case for a start)
The Stage Names
The knitted goodness of Okkervil River's latest should be on here.
Rakes
that cover is just black and a few colours dots and lines (if i remember correctly)
Also...
Sunset Rubdown - Random Spirit Lover
Cassadaga
Surely?!
what a shit award.
and what a shit winner.
^^
I gave that to my friend as an xmas present, I want to buy it now for the artwork alone despite having it for a year.
I don't
think it's such a shit idea, to merit great visual artistry, but some of the sleeves chosen make the whole thing a fucking joke. This could be great if they picked original and inspired ideas and chose to reward them rather than photos of fucking motorways and powerstations with some uber-modern bold font in capitols over the top...how profound.
.
of Montreal. Lavish.
Y
AGREED
Surely...
The Twilight Sad? I love their artwork, it's great.
