Isle of Wight: more names confirmed
No punning. Too easy. The latest raft of acts have been confirmed for the 2008 Isle of Wight Festival.
New additions include the Kooks, Ian Brown, N.E.R.D., the Hoosiers and Scouting for Girls.
The rest of the bill looks like this:
Kaiser Chiefs
the Sex Pistols
the Police
Lily Allen
the Enemy
Kate Nash
Iggy and the Stooges
James
KT Tunstall
the Zutons
Tickets for the event, which takes place at Seaclose Park in Newport from the 13th ‘til the 15th of June, are on sale now.
50,000 people will be in attendance. 50,000 fans of Tunstall, Hoosiers, SFG in one place? An island, you say? Here’s hoping this plot thickens, with a bomb and a big red button.

Wow, this looks amazing
seems to have overtaken V as having the most bland line-up of all the festivals.
Oh god, this is awful.
Shall definitely NOT be going again this year. Thank god the island has Bestival, to balance out the good and the bad.
Underwhelmed
utterly.
Please don't blow IoW up though. It's a lovely place.
Maybe just shoot the festival organisers for dancing on the grave of what I hear people calling the 'British Woodstock'?
I went last year because my traditional festival that weekend, Download, was hideous. Muse, Stones, Groove Armarda and Kasabian were there. That was it, all I deemed worth watching. This year, The Police and Iggy. Sweet.
No thanks.
I more likely to contemplate taking my money back to Download again at this rate. And for the record, that's not going to happen. At all. Ever.
VOMIT
VOMIT.
I grew up on the Isle of Wight... and lived there until I went off to uni. This makes me SAD.
FFS
bastard organisers. That's actually worse than last year's line-up, if it's possible.
I remember when they used to get bands like British Sea Power :-(
stunning
in it's pointlessness - this really is giving v a run for it's money in the 'where in the world would i have to run to in order to be as far from this festival as possible?' stakes.
and those are some high stakes, friends.
