RIP? Electrelane split, for now
- Artists:

The four members of Electrelane have chosen to go on an “indefinite hiatus”.
The Brighton act, godmothers of the blossoming neu-kraut scene, will take time off to concentrate on other things after linking those two dreaded words and a final hometown show on the 1st of December.
In a missive posted on the band’s website today, the 7th of November, they explained their decision:
“We have decided that the upcoming gigs will be our last for the foreseeable future. After ten years of much fun and hard work, we have realised that we all need a break and time to do other things. This was a tough decision for us to make, but ultimately a positive one.
“A big thank you to everyone who has come to our shows, put on our shows, and bought our records over the years. It means a lot to us. We're really grateful to have had the opportunity to play gigs all over the world and to meet so many lovely people.
“This last year has been especially enjoyable and we feel happy about moving on with all these good memories to look back on. At the moment we haven’t made any band plans for the future, but we’re going to have a break and see what happens.
“Love, Electrelane”
The band’s latest but hopefully not last record was the rather splendid No Shouts, No Calls which came out this year on Too Pure. Click for our review, and see below for what currently remains of the band’s endangered touring schedule:

Awww noes
Two of the finest shows I've seen this year (Nottingham Social and Field Day)... amazing band, superb album.
Missing 'em already, wish I could get to one of the last UK shows :(
...
this fucking sucks, one of the best gigs this year was their album launch at the Cumberland Arms, FUCK!
:(
sucks
purveyors of the most
rock 'n' roll lyric I've heard on any album this year - "I've got a ring that my grandmother gave to me".
I enjoyed them at Field Day. Sad news.
Sad news indeed
boo
Oh no.
Fortunately I have tix to their Koko gig.
How sad.
Now
I am definitely going to see them in Strasbourg.
I need
to re-investigate Electrelane. Haven't heard any albums since The Power Out, which was brilliant.
Supported them once and they were great people. This is a shame
me too
: )
: (
OH NO!
No!! Disallowed!
