Natalie Portman picks Shins, Beirut and more for charity comp
Wet dream for wetlads Natalie Portman has curated an indie-centric compilation called Big Change: Songs for FINCA that’ll come out tomorrow on iTunes in the US (30 Oct).
The record features contributions from Beirut, who Portman almost collaborated with on a track about a prostitute from Marseille, Antony & the Johnsons and The Shins.
Proceeds will go to charity FINCA, which provides financial aid to the world's lowest-income entrepreneurs.

She also took the opportunity to distance herself from the recent rise of that Garden State band.
"The Shins are the ones who created their own success. No one is gonna think a sound is great just because I say so. They hear the songs, and that's what decides it for them."
Or perhaps they just read this.
