Paul Mullen, singer with yourcodenameis:milo (pictured), has joined Welsh pop-rockers The Automatic.

Reports the website of Rock Sound magazine:

"Rock Sound can exclusively reveal that Paul Mullen (former vocalist with yourcodenameis:milo) has joined to The Automatic - replacing Alex Pennie who recently left the group.

"Since Mullen's arrival in The Automatic camp they have written several new songs for the next album, which is scheduled for release early next year."

So there. Milo announced their indefinite hiatus in August; this latest news would suggest that there is no way back for the V2-signed prog-rockers.

and I cried bullshit - but I guess with a kid, and bills to pay...that's life.

I really facking hope that him being offered this job had no effect on Milo, that would be bloody low. I know that Pennie guy only left afterward, but he's been spouting it for years.

Speaking of YCNI:Milo

Justin Lockey has formed a group called The British Expeditionary Force. Check it out. Its not bad (although not a patch on Milo)

amazing...

i hate the automatic with a passion, but i really liked yci:m, and this will now make me take the automatic's new material seriously...so i guess good on them, pennie was the most annoying thing about the automatic so maybe they're about to make the most unlikely u-turn in recent times and turn out to be ok afterall
