Razorlight split rumours denied

A source has told DiS that rumours of Razorlight's impending demise are much exaggerated.
Reports yesterday in the press claimed that Razorlight frontman Johnny Borrell's recent live appearance with Lily Allen and another "unidentified" woman was a sign that the band would soon go their separate ways; with a Tabloid 'insider' profferring the opinion that: “It’s been on the cards for a while because no one can stand working with him."
“The band are on the brink of splitting up – everybody just wants to move on now.”
Not true, says our well-placed source; who also identifies the mystery woman as Florence and the Machine's Florence Welch:
"Johnny was well up for this and came down to play an acoustic set with some friends of his - Florence and the Machine - who are releasing an album soon - they played Johnny Cash covers, some new tracks, 'Hotel Yorba, 'To Be a Pilgrim' but no Razorlight stuff.
"Lily Allen was there but she only came down with her friend Miquita Oliver from T4 to watch Johnny and, I hope, case the joint as she showed interest in playing one of the nights soon. She didn't get on stage to sing harmonies as The Sun and Jo Wiley on Radio have suggested but had a sing along from the crowd."
How much credit you give our 'well-placed source' as opposed to the Sun's insider is up to you, of course. But we'd advise that sadly, for now, the suggestion is of one mess cleared up.

all in one article. Here comes an angry headache.
no split then...gutted
Why get our hopes up then? That tabloid insider is just toying with our dreams of a better world...
Does anyone know who actually likes them?
I don't think I know anyone who actually bought their second album. I'm not just talking about people who might read DiS, but just anyone at all. I can't understand how they are so popular. Does anyone know why they are?
You can't even blame NME as they seem to hate them as well.
Hotel Yorba eh?
Sounds like it might be a decent new track
go on, I dares you!
I'm feeling rather down in the dumps today, go on cheer me up, do it..!
well, all the following users on here gave them a 10/10 rating....

Damn
what a shame.
i think it's "people at work" who seem to like them, there are some here who i work with, they call me a non-conformist cos I like bands that they've never heard of and prefer going to gigs in small venues, whilst they might go to one "event" a year, but only for the day. you know the sort, i'm sure some of you must work with some similar folks too!
..
I'm glad I'm not the only person that works with people like that :o)
I file Razorlight...
along with Hard-Fi in the "unbelievably successful but I know loads of people that absolutely f*cking despise them" category definitely.
I NEARLY RECOVERED
I been sick with a bad virus, think the doc called it Borrell, i nearly recovered with the headline, but no, total relapse
Haha, no comment
But I'm sure everyone would have watertight alibis, were it real.
The worst is when people like that try and relate to you...
... and say stuff like "what do you think of the new Kaiser Chiefs album?" And I try and be passive with words like "it's not really my cup of tea" but instead I end up sounding like a smug cunt.
oh yes.
OHH YES.
True dat^
It isn't that people hate them and they are successful. It's the people who like them. I know plenty of people, yes mainly 'work people', who like groups such as killers, chili bobbins, Kaisers who in my opinion are dogsh!t and I know many who share that view but no one really seems to like Razorlight. I guess it must just be some anomaly.
so what do you think of
Sam's town...
I'm so gutted..
that they haven't split. I just want them all to SHUT THE FUCK UP.
That Borrell is the plague.
That was close....
I rated them a 9! However, I am not ashamed to admit that I like Razorlight, and have both the albums. I saw them supporting the Manics in 2004 and I was impressed with Borrell’s presence, even though he does look as if he’s seen himself in a mirror at the back of the audience. As I recall Razorlight were also well received. However, this is definitely a case of some of the parts being worth more than the whole, as the drummer Andy Burrows has by far the better voice as witnessed on the cover of "With A Little Help From My Friends" for BBC 40th Anniversary of Sgt Peppers LHCB. See Little Help (Indeed) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OGP_GpaVs68
You will be pleased to hear that Andy shares Johnny’s self-deprecating modesty.
oops
^ sum
Ambitious!

I know the sort...
My boss like Kaiser Chiefs and The Enemy. I KNOW the sort.
