Smiths man bigs up Radiohead
Ex-Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr** has praised Radiohead's decision to let fans decide the worth of new album In Rainbows.
Speaking at the Q awards yesterday, 1998, Marr told the British Broadcasting Corporation: "I think it's a really fantastic idea because it puts the responsibility back on people's own consciences and deals with people as grown ups."_
It must be all the children. All the children are paying pennies for the new record. Their pennies.
"It's not hiding behind any corporate nonsense, it's just saying 'this is the way it is, let's get on with it'.
"Everyone knows you can get your music for free, so let's see if you really want to show the band your appreciation."

it's like a limited edition release or something
where at the time it seems quite big, but in the future it will just be a normal cd, seeing as how it will be out on normal format cd, i would imagine that people will still buy the cd.
they have basically just said we know some people will have it for free, we don't care.
also i'm so excited, i can't wait for tomorrow, or the 3rd of dec!!
Well said J.Marr
So what's the deal for those who've paid for the download? Do we get a link + password sent to our email tomorrow or something? Going to be a special day...
Has does a normal release
not deal with people as adults?
I think he's saying more
that everyone knows you can do it illegal-style, any normal release sort of skirts around that.
I'm basically being more careful when I cross roads and everything - I must not die before tomorrow!!
Yes. Don't die. I am very very excited. Must keep breathing
i'm goingto be hanging around my computer till the wee small hours just in case tonight.
xxx
well said!
