Channel 4's outrageous teenage soap Skins is to see its soundtrack released on CD.
So yes, that means another release for 'Standing in the Way of My Bowl'* and yes, it is a very slow news day.
Here's what's on it:
Fat Segal - 'Skins Theme Tune'
Gossip - 'Standing in the Way of Control'
Bloc Party - 'Positive Tension'
Yeah Yeah Yeahs - 'Date With the Night'
Adam and the Ants - 'Prince Charming'
Archie Bronson Outfit - 'Dart for My Sweetheart'
The Earlies - 'Kelly Brown'
DJ Shadow - 'Mongrel Meets His Maker'
Tricky - 'Hell Around the Corner'
Skream - 'Colourful'
Broken Family Band - 'It's All Over'
Roots Manuva - 'Witness the Fitness'
The Hives - 'No Pun Intended'
The Fall - 'Totally Wired'
John Martyn - 'May You Never'
Shuggie Otis - 'Aht Uh Mi Hed'
Broadcast - 'Hammer Without a Master'
Brian Jonestown Massacre - 'You Look Great When I'm High'
Sid - 'Wild World'
Is this needed? Go on then, DiScuss: Skins_ - cult or cu*t?

Skream!
I new it! *THAT'S* why dubstep is suddenly so popular.
...
they played 'Cody' by Mogwai at the beginning of the episode last Tuesday. Was well good - synergised perfectly with the scene in which they'd had a crazy party and they were all waking up.
Skins - best thing on TV.
The Tricky track
was used when Sid was meant to have his moment with Tony's girlfriend, only for Tony to barge in at the last minute. It worked bloody perfectly.
In fact, whoever picked the songs for the series did well; more often than not, it fitted better than most cack-handed TV soundtracking.
what
no foals?
I love the picture you used...!
This soundtrack is amazing
whatever you say about the show.
nobody has yet mentioned
that they've got a cast member covering cat stevens. unless thats a dis news joke.

Sadly, it's actually in the programme.
:D

They played Magnetic Fields in the show. It should be on the soundtrack :(
Fairly good ST.
Worst programme I've watched since Two Pints of bla bla.
PS: I don't give a shit if its 'all a bit of fun'. That's probably Mika's excuse, you fucking idiots.
PPS.
That picture's fucking ace :D
Fairly good ST
Totally addictive viewing. Watched the whole series, can't wait for the second one. The writers did as good a job as the writers of 'Lost' or 'Heroes' in building characters with stories that really capture the viewer's imagination.
I bet you only watched five minutes of the first episode didn't you, Wrightylew?
yay!
broadcast are on it, now my friends will understand what im on!
xx
that
is a fucking cool soundtrack.
What...
...does the 'O' stand for in 'OST'?
.
original
Were
Wolf Eyes really featured at some stage?
the kids in this show...
...are so fucking wacky. reminds me of the great nights at rescue rooms.
oh, i'm sorry, i have my dry head on today.
this is funny
the BJM song is actually called You Look Great When I'm Fucked Up
I read that wrong
and thought The Shins were doing the entire soundtrack for something or other. Feel all deflated now.
It stands for
Original Sound Track, as in music written for the film/tv programme I think.
So this isn't an OST at all. Just music that appears on the programme.
I wish i was skins, wow they are so cool...
Skins is a good show though, and the soundtrack looks great. Now, lets just hope they use a different song on the trailers/previously on skins bit for series 2...bloody Gossip.
same ploy as the OC, no?
give a completely shit show crediblity amongst people who wouldnt give a shit about it otherwise by shoving a bunch of hip indie bands on the soundtrack?
seems to be working a charm, going by this thread
Nah.
Watched lots of it. Saw all the final episode.
I just sort of laughed at it to be fair. Its like a clouded drawing of young people's culture at the moment.
The only thing they got right in the entire series though, was the fact that most people my age are tits.
you mean
about a boy oooh something to talk about to give it it's full title
Shuggie Otis - 'Aht Uh Mi Hed'
one of the greatest tracks ive ever listened to. its on nearly all the mix tapes i make.
:D
indeed
Ah
I'm offended by the misuse here.
This should be "Skins SWWYTL" (songs we want you to like)
or
"Skins TWTWMYWOP" (tunes we think will make you watch our programme)
In any case, thanks for answering.
yeah
black vomit was played at the party at the sports club
