Play the hits! Lou Reed has joined up with German ensemble Zeitcracker to re-record his notorious 1975 longplayer Metal Machine Music.
The project has been lying in a vault somewhere since 2002, when Zeitcracker performed the former Velvet's album of feedback at a concert in Berlin.
The contemporary classical act were guided by their saxophonist Ulrich Krieger, who transcribed the original sounds into an acoustic music score.
Lou Reed: Metal Machine Music - Performed by Zeitkratzer Live will be available from the 3rd of September on DVD, with a three-part CD to follow.
