Reading and Leeds: Carling Stage line-up confirmed

The line-up for the Carling Stage at this summer's Reading and Leeds festivals has been announced, and some of it has made DiS go all wobbly at the knees. That said, we're thinking that might have more to do with the almost complete lack of sleep we had last night...

well looking forward to:
Frank Turner
Blood Red Shoes
Battles
Foals
Kubicheck!

meh

It really isnt bad

matt may of found his reading home =)

I really want to see Tokyo Police Club, Little Ones & Hot Hot Heat o and of course Battles (indie cred saving band) honestly i do they sound like an ideal live band.

I'm going on the 25th

thus, I'm delighted.
COBRA STARSHIP!!!

I hope Battles doesn't clash with Bloc Party/Arcade Fire

If that happens It'll be hard to choose.

was thinking about not goingas i was so unimpressed by who was playing this year......

but im just going to sit in the carling tent alot!

Patrick Wold

didnt he quit music or something?

No

he retracted that statement a day or 2 after making it

carling stage

always seems to have a pretty decent lineup

ahh

yes this is cool, i would be happy just to see battles again. But its actually an excellent line up too

Looks like they probably will do

if it works out like last year I reckon they will finish about 15-20 min before Arcade finish, which is pretty stupid planning. why don't they have them on at the same time as the chilli bobbins. Glad to see there is somone pretty good finishing on the sat, as the other two options were pretty shocking.

yeh!

tokyo police club, woop!

Seasick Steve

is amazing old dust bucket blues singer songwriter, I highly urge people to go and watch him!!!!

I'll probably just see Foals

because I also want to catch The Shins and obviously Bloc Party and Arcade Fire, who clash with Battles :(

BATTLES AND FOALS

YEAH MOTHERUFCKEEEEEERRJJAJAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

well done pete and the pirates

!!!!!!!!

and yay frank turner.

when ur standing there

TOKYO POLICE CLUB!

peter bjorn & john :)

pretty decent lineup!

Looks good

The one band that everyone goes to...

Arctic Monkeys in 2005
Klaxons in 2006

Both times I've spoken to many many people who are just there to see those bands.

Foals?

Arctic Monkeys were in the Radio 1 tent in 2005

... actually, not that you said that anyway.

One band does generally get massively oversubscribed at the Carling tent each year. Last year it was the Fratellis (and hopefully they'll never ever be back). Not sure who it will be this year.

ba.tt.les

wrong

Arctic Monkeys were in the Carling Tent.

I freaking saw em, it was defo the Carling Tent

Prick

he's such a prick. what a way to get media attention.

wanker. i wouldnt go see him if you paid me

My God

Pete and the Pirates are really good. Unless Modest Mouse are announced for the main stage to play first, I'm definitely seeing them.

Yep, apologies

I do though have a crystal clear memory of seeing people spilling out the back of the Radio 1 Tent for the Arctic Monkeys and me thinking "bloody hell, sod that".

On a possibly related note, 2005 was the last festival with mushrooms legally on sale.

It'll be fun

watching Battles try and set up all their stuff in about 15 minutes.

It's a shame I'm going to have to miss Arcade Fire.

battles

and seasick steve are a must. pity ive vowed never to go to reading ever ever again...

er....jesus christ-

apparantly Yo la tengo are headlining end of the road........woop!

that friday

is pretty solid. PATRICK WOLF! moist.
might head over to razorlight instead of hammond jnr.

Fucking yes.

Battles, Hot Hot Heat, Hatherley, Turner and Mute Math. Ace stuff.

What are 'The Academy Is...' like? Can't say I've heard them, and they're sandwiched between Battles and HHH... so I'll have to watch them.

I'm liking that list...

...apart from the fact that I can't see the Hold Steady... as they clash with the unmissable Smashing Pumpkins.

:)

good line up! sadly the clashing of acts is gonna be mental this year! too much choice!

what is the fuss about

seasick steve. honestly? he does for blues music what every other guitar band at the moment does for indie. hes not even as good as the slightly better and more deserving jawbone. and yeah he can perform, but so can lots of tramps.

He's engaging, talented

and interesting in many ways.

Battles

you tardo!
