Icelandic post-rockers Sigur Rós are to follow up their acclaimed Takk... LP of 2005 with a book this summer. Not a record. A book. With pages and everything.
In A Frozen Sea: A Year With Sigur Rós is a neatly bound document - sure to be embellished with nice snaps - of the quartet's tour of their homeland in 2006.
A special box-set - including the book alongside vinyl pressings of the band's Takk..., ( ), Agaetis Byrjun and Smaskifa albums will be made available; it's limited to 5,000 copies and released on June 1.
Expect it to be expensive.

Almost a good enough reason to buy a record player
<sigh> if only i had room in my flat :(
what a waste
of everyone's time, money and not to mention paper
"Smaskifa album"
Wha..?
does it mean...
...Smekkleysa? I'm confused. That's the only thing I know of that sounds remotely like Smaskifa.
anyone else know?
They always complain about people describing them as "glacial"
so what do they do?
Release a book that will probably just be them driving around iceland, with lots of scenery.
Still, good band.
its the
single with three extra b-sides on it
Will the book...
be written in english?
Or hopelandic
the best thing ever
would be if they released it in hopelandic, with a dictionary.
a testimony to just how sad i am maybe, but sigur ros translation...wow
