American 'rock park' to feature Jimi Hendrix and John Lennon on 'Mount Rockmore'

A new theme park in South Carolina, based on hella rock icons and the like, is to feature a 'Mount Rockmore' sculpture, reports NME.com.

The 150 acre park - due to open next Spring - will be dominated by the 250-ton Mount Rushmore-aping construction, which will feature the faces of John Lennon (pictured), Bob Marley, Elvis Presley and Jimi Hendrix instead of the usual former Presidents.

Based in Myrtle Beach, the park expects to attract 30,000 visitors per day to its assortment of as-yet-unconfirmed band-themed rides. The Justin Trousersnake Coaster, maybe? The Steppenwolf Magic Carpet?

Do please make your own suggestions below...

The Ronan Keating

'life is a' Rollercoaster

how about

Bing Crosby whack-a-mole, with moles replaced by children.

Jeff Buckley Missisippi River Rapids

The Pete Docherty Coaster, which constantly comes off the rails.

The Manic Street Preacher Coaster, which is downhill all the way.

Replace Hendrix

Haunted House feat. The Horrors

Scary for all the wrong reasons....

My friend lives in Myrtle Beach

and I'm going there in a couple of weeks. That place isn't gonna know what's hit it, it's about as Rock and Roll as Eastbourne. But with a far nicer climate, fantastic beach and the highest concentration if mini-golf courses in the world!

The Johnny Borrell

Hall of Mirrors. Strike poses all day and bask in your own reflection

hahahaha

The Buckley one is best because it veers so close to tastelessness

The Snow Patrol Tea Cups?

Test Icicles ride would close on day one. KISS will feature surely. Looking forward to seeing where they take this idea. You've gotta love the American way.

(Johnny Borrel hall of mirrors I like.)

Phil Spector's

"Wall of Sound" shooting gallery.

Mark Kozelek's

Fun house, next door to the Michael Jackson childrens playground?

Have you seen the photos of this?

It looks sod all like any of them! Who the hell is going to think that's Bob Marley?
