james bourne busted son of dork
James Bourne, formerly of Busted and now starting over with Son Of Dork (no, us neither... apparently they have a video doing the rounds?) has taken a swipe or two at former band mate Charlie Simpson and his emo-rockin' Fightstar outfit.

In The Sun, Bourne said:

"I'm not interested in playing really small venues just so people think I'm credible.

"I admire what Charlie has done with Fightstar and he's brave to go after a different crowd. But I think he's trying to prove a point."

Like, whatever fella. Go leap off some small wall with your guitar in the air, or touch up a teacher, or crash a wedding, or something.

i've moved to down to dorset and i was listening to Wessex FM (great adverts) and the dj was going "..and YES! tomorrow! we have! an EXCLUSIVE! spot with! SON! OF! DORK!!!!"
I thought it was just some local young Farmer's skatepark band with a band like that. But no, it's worse.

I knew nothing about Son of Dork until I read Kerrang! off the shelf this week. There's some stuff in there. If he's so bitchy about what Charlie is doing, why's he doing the same thing?

it's not the same. fightstar are trying to be proper =emo= whereas son of dork are commerical sounding skatepunk.

there's a good fansite which has downloads on if you really wanna hear the single.

not that i've looked at it of course.

Why were Busted a fiasco? I don't understand. And seriously, given the choice between hordes of 15 year olds chasing you about and whining postrock greboes discussing whether you're credible or not I know which direction i'd be going in.

Methinks you all protest too much!

Have you EVER thought there just might be a market for this guy and his band - that some may actually LIKE to hear his music. I mean if it was "one-size fits all" music - would be f****** boring and stifling of talent. There would be no desire to break free or express oneself uniquely.

Remember!!!! There is a thriving market (and indeed a craving) for both Mars Bars and Milky Bars!!!!!

There was a really crap nazi-metal band called S.O.D. from like 1992 or something. Famous for songs such as "Speak English Or Die!" and "Fuck The Middle East".
