Justin Hawkins will start work on a solo record

But will he finish it? And will anyone care?
Justin Hawkins, former singer with The Darkness, is planning to begin work on a solo record soon, reports Soundgenerator.com.
Recently in rehab for drink and drug addictions, Hawkins nevertheless is already planning a return to the industry which more than probably put him in The Priory.
Following a break of relaxation and, hopefully, recuperation, Hawkins will get cracking on more things musical. The Darkness are, as previously reported, to continue without both their singer and label, Atlantic.
Hawkins commented: "I'm planning on taking a very long holiday and doing things I enjoy, like ice skating. Then I'll probably start work on a solo album."
I HATE ice skating. That, you see, is why Justin and I could never date.

I liked them a lot. Even the second album. Hugely entertaining live band too.
It's just that if he could have kept quiet in interviews, perhaps they wouldn't have been so despised by some. A lot of his interview answers screamed "I do coke!", and I even got my question published in Q Magazine's "Cash For Questions" asking him that very thing. He vehemently denied it, of course.
I realise that in one form or another I've recounted this story before, so apologies if you've already read it.

Yeah I liked them too, never got to see them live but the songs always make me happy. But I'm somehow not keen on the prospect of a Hawkins solo album - is it still going under the British Whale name? Bizarre.

No except these two apparantly....
And didnt he announce this when he left his band, also didnt he also say he quit the band due to not being able to tour without taking copious amounts of drugs. So he's not going to tour solo then? shame...
