Best Punks Ever (well, perhaps) Hot Snakes have called it quits after six years of rockin' good times.
A note on the band's label's website, Swami, states: "So the rather sad news to report is that Hot Snakes will be packing it in after our current plans. It was a complete thrill to be part of and satisfied my insatiable hunger for sinister, throbbing action."
Hot Snakes released three albums and were the final band to record a Peel Session while the man himself was alive. The band will play outstanding shows in Australia, Norway and Sweden before possibly doing a few farewell shows, one of which might happen in London.

thats just typical ive been waiting for these guys to come up here for ages, and now they split. pah, some people would do anything to avoid this area.

Fucking hell. One of the best bands around and definitely the best "punk" band now Fugazi are on permanent hiatus. So depressing. Also the best live band Ive seen in years. Fuck!

This is literally the worst day of my life, come back back to work after a nice holiday to loads of catastrophes and now this. At least I got to see them twice and maybe, just maybe, the spare time this will free up in Speedo's schedule will allow a little...RFTC reunion.

This sucks. Although i have heard a rumour that this might mean that they tour some Drive like Jehu stuff. That would b amazingly amazing. Still tis just a rumour.

It's pretty silly comparing them to be honest. I think I love both of them the same.....although my live RFTC experiences just pip Hot Snakes to the post...JUST.

Surely they'd need to dislodge Mark Trombino from his producer hole somewhere in the depths of a pop-punk band factory. Dude's gotta be raking it in producing all those major label geeks.

Hot Snakes will be missed hugely. They show to all the half-arsed MTV2/NME bands what 'rockin' is all about. Their London show this year was mindblowing, and thats no exaggeration. John & Rick: don't let the partnership end, Reis & Froberg must continue!
