London-based punks with silly names The Horrors have been busy at work on their debut album alongside Yeah Yeah Yeahs guitarist Nick Zinner, who says he'd like to "reward each of them upon completion of their final takes with a pint of virgin blood".
Okaaaaaaay.
Zinner is quoted at AngryApe.com as saying that the young five-piece are well behaved in the studio. He also adds that he'd like to work with the group again, should the opportunity arise.
Zinner said: "I liked their music and image - both trashy, macabre, loud, and a little bit camp. Also, after meeting them, I was happy to learn they were all secret brainiacs."
The Horrors' debut album will be released in 2007; a single, 'Count In Fives', is released on October 30.

The single is pretty bad.
The singer can not sing. At all.
He's not allowed to like them
it will give them some credbility... or however you spell it.
terrible, terrible band
just piss poor.
What the fuck?
.
ahahahahahahahahahahahahaahahahahahahahahahahahaha.
Well then
you clearly have bad taste.
i hate them more
because they are so derivative and lack any substance whatsoever. Mark e smith has wit, timing and charisma, they have none.
The singer
is a posh private school boy. He used to go to the private school in my town. he was always quite stuck up and walked around with his mum
...
If your parents spent all that money sending you to public school, you should at least have the good fucking grace to sound like Yes. Ungrateful bastards.
The Horrors should fuck off and become lawyers.
haters
i love the horrors. again, yes they are muppets, but the music is great. & they're actually coming to los angeles. so i get to see them.
& for bigger muppets, let's discuss how bad mcr are.
The thing is...
MCR have the tunes, as well as the image.
mcr have the tunes?
well, i disagree. i think mcr are playing nothing that falls outside of any boundary that is total mainstream shite. perhaps it's merely the music in the u.s., but i haven't heard anything like the horrors in quite some time. so considering EVERYTHING IS DERIVATIVE (including fucking stating that), it's a matter of how common the derivation is. & imo, mcr simply haven't stretched any imaginations. & i'm not saying that the horrors have, i'm just saying a lot more than mcr.
I don't hate them
I'd rather them be popular than Kasabian (though I'm guessing they'll just be one of those NME cover stars who never get anywhere) but they are so 80's Matchbox minus the fun and crazy beefheart bits it hurts my face.
breastfuck
wank in a jar.
isn't interesting how fast, and how deep, the most anti macdonalds, anti music business, principled veggie munching twat will start working with a bunch of shitehawks, pretty much based on the fact tbey are sixteen years old, and covering music so old that its revival is a thing of the eighties.
Horrors, I'm ashamed I don't dislike you, I dislike the fact your half assed ripoff of my favourite genre- brit R+B/freakbeat has attracted anything other than...silence
breastfuck
joe Strummer wasn't good, so your point loses some of its validity
bf
not EVERYTHING is derivative...but if something is gonna be derivative, it could still have the areas of performance, songwriting skill, and production to recommend it.
Horrors? Can't even cover a three chord Syndicats song from forty one years ago...fucking rubbish.
Faris Rotter is a children's entertainer
That is all.
mini album
only have 5 songs too, the album will probably end up sounding like slade and Faris Rotter will probably join the Hollyoaks cast as a student.
I saw The Horrors the other night.
I thought I was going to DISPISE them, but actually ended up quite enjoying them. 90 second songs, a couple of old covers, pretty engaging frontman. It's vaudeville, it's stupid, it'll be fun for the next month, but they're nowhere near the antichrists that they get made out to be on here.
Plus, they had a Monks sticker on their keyboard. Respect.
