High On Fire are an amazing live band. Worth seeing even if you're not usually into metal. -

Never really got into High on Fire. I've never understood what the fuss was about them as to me they sounded like a second rate Celtic Frost. Matt Pikes old band, Sleep were far better.
my big tip for metal in 2005 is the return of Opeth -
