Get Happy Tour: actually slightly depressing...
Somebody, somewhere, thinks these bands will make you happy, so much so that they've gone and called these dates the Get Happy Tour. See me, I'm crying inside...
Bowling For Soup are to (presumably) headline the four-band tour, above the former-Busted-star-featuring Son Of Dork (pictured, Fightstar > SoD?), one-hit-wonders Wheatus and Army Of Freshmen.
Expect a flurry of suicides around the country in February, dates and locations as follows...
February
6 Bristol Academy
7 Southampton Guildhall
8 Cambridge Corn Exchange
9 Cardiff University
10 Manchester Academy
12 Glasgow QMU
13 Nottingham Rock City
14 Leeds Metropolitan University
15 Norwich UEA
17 Birmingham Academy
18 London Hammersmith Palais
Leeds: take a date to this tour and you'll never get laid. Ever.
HAHAHAHAHA
ahahhaa
...
I didn't realise half of these bands were still going. Sad, sad times.
Users who liked Wheatus also liked:
OPM, T-rextasy, Thirst, Neverthemore, Canyon, The Last Post, Underøath, Grasshopper And The Golden Crickets, The Coalfield, Amulet
Who?
Or am I just not down with the kids enough to know any of them.
Now I'm renowned round here for being cyincal
but this looks shit.
Can you guezzie me?
Son Of Dork
would make me happy. But only if the fit one gets nekkid again.
.
Jesus wept...
Possibly
the worst line up I've ever seen!
I saw Bowling For Soup
on their tour last year.
They had Army Of Freshmen as one of their supports. Admittedly, American Hi-Fi and MC Lars were better.
But it was a mightily entertaining night.
More tours should be like that, with 3 or 4 bands all touring together. Made it a lot more fun, when you could tell that all the bands got one well, and were constantly joking.
I saw Wheatus once
in Oxford. It was a free ticket, but I still feel dirty.
I absolutely love Bowling For Soup
...and their new single is great. They're a lot more clever than anyone gives them credit for and millions of miles above peers of the New Found Glory-ilk in terms of tunes that stick in your head for the right reasons. I don't care if they're fashionable or not - you'd have to be a hard-hearted git to go to one of their gigs and not be grinning like a fool all night. As a lot of people who checked them out at Reading against their better instincts a few years ago found out. A friend of mine who HATED them loved their set.
But that support bill... I'm going to be busy in the bar for most of the night. Well - unless Army of Freshmen are any good, at least.
Whoo, Wheatus!
Bowling for soup pretty much live in Nottingham Rock City, I swear to God.
A little respect, get on down
Ummm...
But....Wheatus ARE a one hit wonder. Like, they've had ONE hit - 'Teenage Dirtbag'. Their subsequent singles/albums have all sold poorly in comparison. Ask anyone what they remember about Wheatus and the answer will be either being a shit band or for 'Teenage Dirtbag'.
How are they not a one hit wonder?? I for one would LOVE to know...
.
Getting into the top 22 doesnt make it a hit.
Thats another
person that signed up just to comment on this.
Oh well, made me smile, cheers!
