Words from The Beatles' 'All You Need Is Love', penned by John Lennon, are to be written on the walls of Luton airport.
The song title - "All you need is love" - was voted the greatest words of all time in an Internet poll run by Luton First, a body charged with promoting Luton. "All you need is love" proved more popular with the public than lines from the Bible and those uttered by Winston Churchill.
Paul Kehoe, Managing Director of Luton Airport, told reporters: "The winning quotation is a great choice as the words will send out an immediate, positive and life-affirming message to all visitors arriving in the UK at London Luton Airport".
Tony Edwards, PR for Luton First, said: "It was interesting to see that the title of a 1960s song should be in the forefront of public imagination more than 40 years on."
DiScuss: Is love all you need? How about a passport? Can't imagine disgruntled travellers being pacified by a Beatles song when their entry is refused, can you?
