'No End In Sight'? Consult new supergroup, This Is Menace...

This Is Menace, a supergroup featuring a wealth of alternative rock talent, have announced details of a debut album.

No End In Sight is rumoured to emerge on April 25th. DiS doesn't have any more information than that at present, but rest assured that we will, and when we do you'll be the first to know.

This Is Menace's line-up features Mark Clayden and Jason Bowld (Pitchshifter), Colin Doran (Hundred Reasons), Casey Chaos (Amen), Matt Davies (Funeral For A Friend), Mikee Goodman and Justin Hill (SikTh), Jeff Walker (Carcass), Karl Middleton (Twin Zero/earthtone9), Andy Cairns (Therapy?), and Paul McCallion (Hiding Place).

ARGH! How many supergroups do they want? Doran and Middleton are already in one each. Two now. Stupidass punks.

why so many singers ?
and what is this "supergroup" all about ?!

'No End In Sight'? Consult new supergroup, This Is Menace...

Andy Cairns is involved.

That's enough for me to be interested.

IT's like Westlife but with metal singers.

Karl Middleton and the rest of Earthtone9 get fucking everywhere, in any supergroup you can guarantee there is an ex earthtone9 member in.

Anyway, this group looks like it can fucking rock, although CaseyChaos can piss right off...

Agreed. Aside from Chaos I'm excited. Do you think he was hanging around the studio looking edgy and troubled, and they all felt sorry for him because all of his bands songs sound exactly the same and they weren't very good anyway?

that sounds cool, but casey chaos and the boy outta hundred reasons can slide away outta it

when supergroups form, do they have to tour shitty lil pubs hoping to get a record deal - as their music isn't always great, so i think its only fair.

I hear Dire Straits and Chris Rea are forming a supergroup.

They are called Diarrheoa.

Thanks, you've been a lovely audience.

I hope Burt Bacharach is writing the songs

Colin Doran and Casey Chaos in the same band? Fucking. Hell.

Re: 'No End In Sight'? Consult new supergroup, This Is Menace...

Add Jeff Walker and I'm salivating. Most of 'em I can take or leave - and that includes Casey Chaos, who I quite like at times - but some have been involved with great stuff. I'm looking forward to this.

why so many singers ?

It's all acapella.

Re: 'No End In Sight'? Consult new supergroup, Thi

the "grind" band ?
should be great ... no one responded to my rumour about it though, silly indie boys ;)

Supergroups... it's as if no one remembers the atrocity of Temple of the Dog?

Re: 'No End In Sight'? Consult new supergroup, This Is Menace...

temple isn't really a supergroup,
its just pearl jam with chris cornell singing
and vedder popping up on 2 songs doing
backing vocals. i like a lot of it actually. if i feel nostalgic for how good pearl jam used to be but i'm sick of listening to ten its a pretty good album, same with the mother love bone record.
i have to agree though that in general supergroups are awful, the only exception ican think of being fantomas, being faithnomore/mrbungle/melvins/slayer, and tomahawk, again with mike patton but with jesus lizard, helmet and mr bungle members...

OK, this is just all those in the news box - Mark Clayden and Jason Bowld (Pitchshifter), Colin Doran (Hundred Reasons), Casey Chaos (Amen), Matt Davies (Funeral For A Friend), Mikee Goodman and Justin Hill (SikTh), Jeff Walker (Carcass), Karl Middleton (Twin Zero/earthtone9), Andy Cairns (Therapy?), and Paul McCallion (Hiding Place) - Are all singing a song on the THIS IS MENACE record. It's not a supergroup. Well, it is super, but not a group.

perhaps they are gonna do barber shop style songs. that would fucking destroy.

Re: 'No End In Sight'? Consult new supergroup, This Is Menace...

I agree about Chaos, but Colin Doran is one of the guys in that list (and he’s joined in this respect by Andy Cairns and Karl Middleton) who’s proven his versatility as a musician. He can sing hardcore (Lucky Nine), post-hardcore (early H*R) and straight-up rock (the H*R of today); if anyone should be sliding away, it should be Matt Davies – the guys from SikTh will probably eat him and his insipid emo back catalogue.
