Head Automatica have cancelled their UK shows this month as vocalist Daryl Palumbo has again been hospitalised with a recurrence of Crohn's Disease.

The band were due to support The Used as well as play their first-ever headline show in the UK.

Dates affected are below.

January
14th - Manchester Academy
15th - London, Brixton Academy
16th - Sheffield Leadmill
18th - Glasgow QMU
19th - Newcastle University
20th - Birmingham Carling Academy
22nd - Nottingham Rock City
23rd - Cardiff University

February
1st - London, Mean Fiddler (headline show)

A single, 'Beating Heart Baby' is due for release on January 31st.

Its an intestinal disease, my mum has it, its not life threatening but it is fairly serious and painful.

unfortunately in some cases it is life threatening, in most cases it's mild but there can be complications and in severe cases mess up your insides.

I had much the same problem...booked tickets to Lostprophets at Brixton Academy as 'Worship & Tribute' had just come out and Glassjaw were supporting....Glassjaw pulled out.

You have to feel sorry for this guy, when there are artists who promise gigs then just don't turn up (coughpetecough) and this guy wants nothing more than to go out there and play to his fans, but a cruel disease keeps him from doing so. I have more respect for Daryl than most in rock.

It's just a tragic shame. I got tickets for Glassjaw way back in April 2003, and they got half way through their UK tour before he got struck down again with illness. And now he's ill with Head Automatica, and they were the main reason I went to see the Lostprophets. Why people like Pete the Skaghead gets such massive fame and he just no shows gigs and people like Daryl work and work and work and don't get the reconisition they deserve. It's just bullshit.

I feel sorry for Daryl but I'm also rate pissed off. I've had tickets to Head Automatica twice, and Glassjaw 5 times. When it comes to support dates I've come to the conlusion that they should NEVER announce they're supported because I can never get my money back. It'd just be a nice suprise.
