Presidents of the United States return for third LP
This is probably a bad idea. I loved the first album, then saw them live and thought they were great. But the second album was a bit rubbish and the joke kind of wore thin.
Which isn't to say that I wouldn't go and see them if they played in Bristol, if only to hear 'Lump' and 'Peaches' again...

I hope it's better than that shite they did with Sir Mix-A-Lot.

The released one in 2000 (I think) too called Freaked out and Small. It's brilliant. The new one is already in the shops i've been into too along with re-releases of the first and third albums with extra tracks on (which I cannot afford to buy).

Third album? Love Everybody is their fifth isn't it? Freaked out and Small came out about four and a half years ago and Love Everybody came out in August last year, so there's not an awful lot right about this news article is there? ;)
Sorry to sound like a bitch but, you know, just pointing out. Friendly like.

It was the news that we're given, sorry.
I genuinely thought it was the third, discounting the b-sides Frosting collection...
you live and learn.
will explore further...

dont think Pure Frosting counts as its a compilation. Freaked Out and Small never got any press over here because it was originally only intended for the US internet company MusicBlitz, and PUSA only reformed to write and record it then disbanded again. no point in beating a dead horse.
their comeback gig on the 3rd was originally scheduled for March 1st at the Garage, but it sold out within 24 hours.. based on that the comeback doesnt sound like such a bad idea to me - had my tickets for aaages!

oh, and just in case anyone fancies sampling the new album, try and get hold of a track called "Some Postman". it's easily up there with Peaches.

They reformed back in 2000 for the release of FOAS, though this was simply under the name of 'The Presidents'.
So, strictly speaking, this is the return of 'The Presidents of the United States of America'.
The new album is fantastic. I'm so glad they decided to play a UK show, as I never thought i'd get to see them. Here's hoping they return for some festival slots...
