Sue-pernova: Nineties rockers versus Tommy Lee
The producers of American X-Factor-style show Rock Star: Supernova are being sued by a Nineties rock band over use of the name 'Supernova'.
The Rock Star: Supernova show features aspiring vocalists competing to play in a band backed by Tommy Lee (Motley Crue, pictured), Jason Newsted (Metallica) and Gilby Clarke (Guns N' Roses). But a band called Supernova, who formed in 1989 and contributed a track to the Clerks soundtrack, are now taking legal action over copyright infringement.
An injunction was filed last Friday in San Diego after the band originally filed a (failed) lawsuit in June. Their lawyer told Hollywood Reporter: "After lengthy negotiations with CBS, Mark Burnett Prods. and others, they left us with no options but to seek the preliminary injunction.”

I dislike Tommy Lee
that is all.
...
The Tommy Lee band is the worst thing he's ever done, since the last thing he did.
Jason Newstead must be poor or something. I can't understand why he's involved in this rotten shitfest. It's embarassing watching him on that show, nodding his head, pretending to find anything good about the aging, perma-tanned bar-room losers murdering already lame 90s MOR with disinterested LA session musicians doing their best not to break out laughing behind them.
The best thing though is that I'll never hear it again. Supernova are going nowhere.
Supernova (the amrep band)

If it's them doin the suin, they better win.
The other Supernova

I need a change of hobbies
I saw an episode and it's as terrible as you'd expect. Not "funny" embarrassing, "sad" embarrassing; I was tempted to sell my guitars and all my cd's, and then buy model airplanes. Needlepoint, perhaps.
