Boris + Sunn 0))) = Altar, due on Halloween

The much-talked-about - in metal circles anyway - collaborative album by Sunn 0))) and Boris (pictured) is to be released on the most appropriate of days - Halloween.

Altar will see the light of day - and immediately recoil, one assumes - on October 31 Stateside; we think it'll be out here in Blighty a day earlier, but don't hold us to that. Southern Lord is the predicatable label on the sleeve.

The album - a six-tracker on CD - features a wealth of guest contributors: Kim Thayil of Soundgarden makes an appearance, as do Joe Preston (High On Fire) and Dylan Carlson (Earth). You'll have to buy the vinyl version to hear Carlson, though - he plays on the vinyl-only bonus track 'Her Lips Were Wet With Venom'.
