No more tears for ex-Suede boys

You know how people think The Libertines are relevent or that Jet somehow represent the musical tastes of a whole generation? Well, a decade ago, there was this bunch of dreg ends called Suede.
Their second LP Dogmanstar has the kind of musicality few bands could ever conceive, receiving rapturous press across the board. Being a bunch of drug addicts didn't help the band and they soon split with their guitarist/creative director, one Bernard Butler.
With Suede split, Brett Anderson and Bernard are back together with Nathan Fisher (Bass), Mako Sakamoto (Drums) and Will Foster (Keyboards) making up the numbers. The Tears is their new name.
It will not be easy living up to expectations.
Two live dates have been announced:
Heaven, London on 16 December
Razzmatazz, Barcelona on 18 December
See eBay to buy tickets, because they sold out instantly. The record will be released through Independiente in the new year.
DIScuss: Will this record be any good? Can they recapture what they had?

Then they scuppered it by having tantrums. Tsk.
I went backstage at a Suede gig in about '91 and after bumming a cigarette from my girlfriend Butler spent the whole time slagging off Anderson within his earshot.
"Look at him, what a wanker" etc, etc. I suspected things probably weren't well in the Suede camp.

I'm right daft, y'know. But Happy!
OK, it's not a terrible album. but you can deffo hear the effects of their arguments on it, which is a bit tedious after a while...
Re: No more tears for ex-Suede boys
The last two Suede records were workman-like but limp, and Butler's solo stuff was pretty weak too. I'll cross my fingers and hope for a return to form, but in the back of my mind I'm thinking that once you lose the spark, you never get it back.
