Not overly my cup of tea, but thought I'd give you some feedback regardless.
What The Papers Say
Despise that electro acoustic guitar sound.
Reminds me of Ted Leo / The Levellers.
The little instrumental break after the vocals come in at the end of the verse seems a bit unnecessary / underdeveloped.
Good voice, suits the music.
Quite like the chorus.
Particularly like the breakdown.
Verse would be good if it weren't for breakdown.
Overall quite like this one.
Not a bad ballad, though absolutely ruined by that electro acoustic guitar sound as it's so prominent in the song.
Not so sure about the change of pace towards the end, don't mind it as a segment independently, but the way it comes in ruins the flow of the song, but not in the good way that The Unicorns used to achieve.
Not as keen on this song on the whole, feels like a canvas of ideas rather than a finished article.
In my opinion the most boring of the lot so far.
Reminding me too much of the Levellers or the side of Cracker I'm not as keen on for my liking.
Not fussed on the guitar solo (or guitar solos in general).
Much appreciated. The songs are works in progress, i have only been playing guitar for a year, so it's all new.
I agree with 'eternal sunshine', on repeat listens it does sound incomplete and slightly rushed and the change does irk somewhat, think i need more of a segway into it or stretch out the verse before dropping into it.
what the papers say
again agree with the post verse musical break, although it is to give me breathing space before the chorus, again because i am learning i am trying out tricks to help me sing a nd play at the same time.
Fugitive is the first song i have written fully and it is possible to tell that, very pedestrian pacing and the vocals are a wee bit bland.
These songs were written to be performed soley on acoustic guitar, the rest of the instrumentation was kind of like a jam in the studio.
Again thank you for the feedback it helps a lot.
