people next door, not being racist, but from an ethnic background. started playing loud music at 12.
I've got the builders round, one of them is an ethnic and he was banging his hammer at 12.
I think it's disgraceful.
they just didn't realise?
me, you would know it was purposeful.
and i doubt that they consciously thought 'let's defy the silence!'
i saw them
they were playing "drum and bass" and defecating on a photo of princess diana
Shirley if you weren't being racist you wouldn't need to point out that they are from an "ethnic background".
Sort of. The last two-minute silence for 7/7 was last July, and that time all the traffic stopped and everyone came out of their buildings to stand by the road.
Fairly half-hearted effort this time round.
Very patchily observed this year and I was asked by an American tourist where she could buy a Band Aid for her daughter.
I think Geldof's over there, point and run away?
Woolworths. Under the 'New Releases, 1985' section.
and thio year we all stayed in doors
people forget so quickly
except for someone putting the photocopier on a massive job at 11:59am and hearing the whirling sound from that.
Last year we were outside too but it was too late by the time I remembered.
we do only have a two minute silence to commemorate the dead of the two world wars.
i'm not saying that 7/7 was an awful day for britian, race relations, the individuals involved, but it doesn't really compare to events where 100,000 people could die in a day.
maybe one minute, but not two.
oh how mawkish of me to remember that some people make this world an evil place to live.
that it really can happen ANYWHERE. So anyone who thinks otherwise can quite frankly do one
there are frequently 1 minute silences at football games for the death of individual people .... in order that a commemoration of WW2 is proportionate we'd be stood in silence for weeks.
as terrible as the attacks were, only 52 people lost their lives. and i know that even one death is completely awful but the media do seem to be making a massive deal of this and equating it to the level of the world wars and 9/11 by having 2 minute silences.
but i fucking hate pakis
with the exception of one ignoramus
well, by me, in my room all alone so with little choice really
after 3.00 when I go home
go -"I just don't believe in it, maaaaan"
Loads of people here didn't bother here as well in that typical 'Im alright jack' cuntish way the British have - cunts.
quite a few confused looking tourists suddenly realising and joining in.
it was midday!
to be observing this but we were all too busy and missed the time.
And in silence!
might have snored!
I didn't think of that... :s
I was probably silent though.
