what do you call it? its dinner, right?
also, its piss. not pee.
it's tea but you go out 'to dinner'
supper is a whole nother meal at about 10.00
because thats a drink.
tea = not posh. true fact.
i call it dinner...
more likely to call it 'tea' in the north
therefore, there's no posh people up north
i wonder what JDT calls it
Elevenses is a mid-morning snack (coffee and a cake, say).
Lunch is midday.
Tea is what you have around 4pm- and it is literally tea and scones etc.
Dinner is what you eat at around 7pm, the evening meal.
not true. i'm just passionate about food. it's the only way to be. i don't eat all that, mind. i have more a tea addiction than anything else.
You're the one named after a biscuit, chubsy! how d'ya like dem apples?
(i don't particularly like apples myself. boredom is also killing my brain and sense of humour).
unless it's sunday
or a wedding
i can't imagine having fish fingers and chips for dinner for example. that sounds wrong
Breakfast, dinner and tea. I think that's 'cos my mother's parents have always eaten their main meal as the middle meal of the day.
It's not hugely important but I do feel that both the word "lunch" and having "dinner" in the evening seem a bit formal. I've always seen supper as something you'd have late in the evening.
I don't think there's a right answer per se but I'm definitely more comfortable with having dinner at lunchtime and tea in the evening.
Erm, that is to say I appreciate your point of view but respectfully disagree.
